The WonderTwinz, consist of Twin brothers, Kamal and Khalid Jordan, from Charleston S.C. They go by the last name Russell, on film in tribute to their mother who raised them by herself. As youngsters, their passion music began in a simple band classroom. One (Khalid) found joy in the drums, which would lead to recording and producing soundtracks. The other was 1st chair playing the trumpet. That actually landed him his first Co Anchorman job for his High school Morning show. They have now elevated to production as well as acting in films. Within the last 2 years they have both have managed to become international phenomenon. "Geechee One Films has given us a platform to shine and we love it", says Kamal Russell, who is also listed as Assistant Director and Production Assistant for the company. "Working in film with Felicia Rivers and Geechee One has provided an innovative place for us to grow in, as well as showcase so many of our talents. It just felt like home from the beginning. " (Khalid adds). “The WonderTwinz have a catalogue of hits, including songs like “Things Change" and "S.A.M.", that have already been featured on films, and are soon to be released worldwide”.

Q&A: Lex Da Benefit ft Creme Dela Creme

Q. Say I wasn't your cousin and I didn't know you Lex? Tell me who is You both are?

A Native of Columbia SC . I got serious about music when I moved to Charlotte. Did several shows at Scorpios and 360 Lounge and competed in a coast to coast live competition there as well. Released my first project in March 2020. Music has been my outlet forever. And being surrounded by so much talent over the years it just flowed for me. I have my own lane but I’m well versed in all lanes.I just want to make good music and vibe.

____________________________

Q. So you and Creme are an item right? And both of you guys are rappers. Have you guys ever done any features together?

A.Who Creme naw we not an item but we have some pretty dope projects coming up real soon. We may have a slight spark. You know how artists are though. When you are around someone non stop you may just dabble We do have one piece we have already released on YouTube visuals. Coming soon for a cover of the WAP. Stay tuned I mag cuff her by the fall who knows lol

____________________________

Q. Are your features based off of like real life situations between 2 lovers or just regular duets between 2 artist?

A.We plan to incorporate both sides of the spectrum but with all our music we are just having fun. Collectively these are two amazing minds coming to life.

___________________________

Q. Would you guys consider your relationship and public image to be more like Beyonce & Jay Z or Kin and Kanye, and why?

A.Definitely potential for a modern day Bey and Jay but if we were Kim and Kanye she is definitely Kanye lol.

___________________________

Q. The other day I was strolling on facebook and I saw this post about a new song entitled "Only Fans Affair. Tell me more about that?

A.That wasn’t a song it was actually an event I did in Moncks Corner opening up for Kwik Stakks and Ladi Rae both dope artists on the rise as well good vibes and great networking.

___________________________

Q. So on another note, with you both being public figures and you know fans/groupies, right? How do you guys deal with that aspect of the business?

A.Fans are necessary of course but support is where the legacy begins. I deal with all supporters as just that support I thank them and make it my duty to keep some good content coming to keep em as supports.

Q. Let's talk about being LGBTQ in a mostly straight industry. How has being LGBTQ hurt or elevated your career?

A. It hurts just as much as anything else in most instances you have to be someone you aren’t to appeal to all sides. I like to think if you really listen to my music u will give either way because I make music based on emotions and experiences. I am proud of the LGBTQ community for standing and stepping out in the music industry just because we like what we like doesn’t mean we don’t experience or that we aren’t relatable. So I can’t say that our community hasn’t elevated my career either.

___________________________

Q. So speaking of the LGBTQ factor right?. How do you guys use your platforms to promote social acceptability amongst the LGBTQ community?

A.I promote being you and loving you. In this platform you can be you unapologetically. But I use that outside my platform as well. Q. So I ask all my body LGBTQ promoters this question? Frank Ocean or NasX? Why? A. Definitely Frank Ocean he is sincere with his in my opinion. I’m not into clout chasers so Nas X will never be my cup of tea until he humbles himself.

Lol we have actually sat down and wrote a couple songs that will be put in motion pretty soon! And o yea ... I have a tiny tiny crush on her ... she might be my girlfriend at the end if this interview who knows lol

Q. Let's talk about being LGBTQ in a mostly straight industry. How has being LGBTQ hurt or elevated your career?

A. Being true to who you are can be very beneficial in some ways but negative in some ways as well in this industry .. being that majority of the world is gay in the first place some out some in certain circumstances ...but being a female rapper you have to prove yourself a little harder just because you want to have mfs feel you and be able to relate ... unless you just talk about your kitty or how you do what you do behind closed doors then it’s not that hard honestly lol being a female rapper and gay is a challenge because a lot of the times it’s really not even about what your saying it’s how marketable and the chances that a mf think they can fuck you to be honest .. sex sales ... it intrigues the opposite sex .. because I’m a more feminine lesbian I can paint any picture I desire the only thing that stops me sometimes is I can really really rap so when it comes to features with most Males i feel they are intimidated by me lyrically none the less so to be a HARD gay feminine female it has it’s ups and downs I think it would be harder for benefit only because of the marketing portion of her being a more masculine lesbian but lyrically she can kill these niggas and that’s another thing that will have her in her own lane ... I trust that she can do it tho she really like that

Q. So speaking of the LGBTQ factor right?. How do you guys use your platforms to promote social acceptability amongst the LGBTQ community? A.I don’t really ... I’m cool with anybody that’s cool with me !! I’m a artist but I’m not a super flamboyant person in general which I know I need to turn up a little more but I will lol Q. So I ask all my LGBTQ promoters this question? Frank Ocean or NasX? Why?

A. I like Young Ma .. Siya... KEHLANI.... but musically FRANK OCEAN

The Hottest Up & Coming LGBTQ+ Artist in Columbia South Carolina

Rico Land is one of the hottest upcoming artist in Columbia South Carolina . She is from Union South Carolina but raised in Columbia South Carolina . She does a lot of Artist Showcases . She got the chance too perform in front of “Jullian Boothe” The CEO of Fast Life Ent . She is big in the LGBT Community and plays a big part of it . Her singles “First Of All” & “Big Steppa” are DEFINITELY hits and can find those songs on all platforms such as YouTube , Spotify , Apple Music , ETC . She’s definitely a dope artist & ready too work with other upcoming artist . She lost her oldest brother Derrick Land in 2013 & lost her dad Craig Kershaw in 2017 . She seeks motivation thru those 2 because they both really played a big part in her life . She has 2 other brothers La’Marcus Land and Cedrick Land . Also her Mom Shelia Land which is her best motivator & back bone . Her aunts Yvonne Lawson , Lisa Kershaw , comes out and supports her ; as Rico says they come out and Jam Out . She also speaks of her other aunt “Cina Rice” she lost her back in October , she says if she was here she would be jamming out as well . Rico says she lost another motivator “Mike Land aka LandMan” in a non sense violent killing back in December 2020 . She said he has given the best advice & he has been there as a big brother since her brother Derrick Land was kilt . She uses all those losses too go even harder . She has dropped her “First Of All” Video and is now working soon releasing the drop of “Big Steppa” Video . Rico Land is a very humbled artist and easy going she is definitely a whole vibe . I love the ambition she has as an artist and we wish her well on her journey with bigger accomplishments coming up for her.
