Get To Know Evisu Mane

Young man grew up in Milwaukee WI, trying to find away for myself and family to make it out. Music was my outlet to get my pain and frustrating out that I love to bottle in and not vent to anyone about. I suffered from depression and even suicidal thoughts dealing with family lost, financial issues and just giving my all into whatever I put myself into and not giving up.

Get To Know Twaun Dawn

From the city of Charleston, SC, which is known more for it's history than it's future, Twaun Dawn's music journey started back in 2005 with a rugged street tone. Releasing several local projects that didn't bring notoriety but played an important role in shaping who Twaun Dawn is today. Deciding to go solo in 2010, with personal growth his message grew parallel. Someone who still believes in guerrilla marketing he has slowly paved his own way by grabbing one listener at a time. With more chapters to write in his story he often says he can't wait to be on VH1s "Behind the Music." After learning about his rollercoaster ride I agree, it would be a great episode!

The Bonnie & Clyde Of The Film Industry

Bobby and Renee Peoples are much more than the CEOs of The Peoples Network (TPN)—they are a filmmaking power couple whose story reads like a testament to creativity, resilience, and partnership. For nearly two decades, this husband-and-wife team has built an independent entertainment empire from the ground up, rooted in a shared love for storytelling and a deep commitment to uplifting others in the industry. What began in 2008 as a vision to create meaningful, African-American-led content has blossomed into a production company with a prolific output and a growing cultural footprint.

At the heart of TPN is Bobby Peoples, a seasoned producer, writer, director, and editor, whose creative vision drives much of the company’s narrative ambition. Working hand-in-hand with him is Renee Peoples, an equally dynamic force—CEO, writer, director, and actress—whose artistic roots trace back to her early days in theatre, where writing plays and directing classmates foreshadowed the path she would later take in film. Together, they have written and produced well over 100 web series, features, and short films, a volume of work that speaks not just to their productivity but to their passion and endurance in a notoriously tough industry.

But what makes Bobby and Renee’s story truly compelling is how they have leveraged their own success to lift up others. Through initiatives like the TPN Film Fest—a bimonthly showcase that supports Atlanta’s emerging filmmakers by helping them build audiences and profit from their work—they’ve created platforms that challenge the traditional gatekeeping of Hollywood and independent cinema alike. Their mission isn’t just to entertain, it’s to educate and empower. In fact, their work extends beyond filmmaking into educational tools like the How to Make Movies and Money Manual, designed to demystify the craft and business of filmmaking for aspiring creators.

While their films have found homes on major retail and streaming platforms—including Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Tubi, and more—the Peopleses measure their success not just in distribution deals, but in impact. Projects such as You Can Never Go Home Again, starring Omar Gooding and airing on Lifetime, exemplify the couple’s ability to blend heartfelt storytelling with commercial appeal. And with newer ventures like TPN TV—an app available on Roku designed to help independent filmmakers reach national audiences—the duo continues to innovate how stories are shared and monetized.

Despite the challenges that inevitably come with independent filmmaking—financial risks, creative disagreements, and industry skepticism—Bobby and Renee’s partnership has endured because it’s grounded in mutual respect and a shared dream. Their journey is emblematic of the entrepreneurial spirit: a blend of grit, imagination, and faith in the belief that voices from the margins deserve a place center stage. And as they continue to expand TPN’s reach, mentor new talent, and push the boundaries of independent cinema, Bobby and Renee Peoples stand as inspiring examples of what’s possible when two people build not just a company, but a legacy together.

At what age did you know you wanted to be a part of the entertainment industry?

I was born in 1984, I have always been a performer and an influencer. In junior high school I was modeling , singing, acting, cheerleading, public speaking, and being a creative artist my whole life. I have never been to cosmetology school for beauty, I taught myself how to do all my beauty skills. I wanted to be a performer as a child.

Being a model, can have its challenges. Have you ever had to face some type of rejection, or disappointment from a gig you didn't get?

Being a disabled model and influencer, Runway modeling has been the hardest for me. The challenges of learning to walk again, choosing to do runway modeling and challenging myself has been the hardest but greatest victory. Rejection is something that is needed in any industry that you desire to be committed to. I have gone for many auditions and did not get them, and it can be a hard feeling, then you realize the industry of being chosen. I always say are you “Okay with not being chosen”. Modeling helps build self-confidence to conquer the runway of life for me and allows you to accept not being chosen and still know you are beautiful. Hey, You are your own model, so take the challenges and shake the room.

Have you ever done any runway shows in any states?

I have my first out of state runway show on December 10, 2022 in Gulfport Mississippi. Being a self-proclaimed beauty entrepreneur, this is a honor in a little over a year in the modeling industry. Excitingly, I had a model tour that I created this year to go to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Atlanta for myself that unfortunately did not happen due to industry changes, and COVID precautions.

Growing up, did you have a particular model/actress you looked up to as a role model?

When I was a young girl, until being a 38-year-old model, I always wanted to be Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks. These women are fierce and rocked the runway with that fierce walk and one turn. I always walk in “Shaking The Room” like the late great Pop Smoke said and raped about. I am all about representation and walking in how you expect to be treated and knowing who I am so I will not fall for anything. Fundamentally, this has broadened my reach in the beauty industry. Being a dark skin woman, we always had these two that brought us up and showing black confidence on every entertainment stream for modeling and being beauty entrepreneurs. Being the Vice President of Queens Vision Modeling in New Jersey, I can manage models and set the standard for Union Model expectation by guiding and teaching the fundamentals of modeling to get noticed.

The pandemic 2 years ago slowed the entire world down. Did work slowdown for you during this time?

During the pandemic, work began to slow down but it allowed me to also perfect by craft, while getting through my medical recovery. The pandemic allowed many of us true business owners and entrepreneurs to focus on our own talents and utilize them. I am literally now doing my own things that I used to pay to get done. Now I am a self-made make-up artist, hair artist, lash artist, stylist and designer sitting down at home during the pandemic, while creating my mobile beauty business of Hired by Beauty MsCanditrinae’. I learned that change is needed for “ Growth of The Seeds I Planted” You know the full harvest. We have to slow down and sit down to really get down and make the brand of your foundation be built on the rock. Canditrinae’ was created during the pandemic with the rock as the foundation. I am the “Canditrinae Brand”, Queen.

Have you worked with any celebrities since you've been in the business of being a model/actress?

Being a model and actress, I have worked with celebrities on different levels. In a year of following my acting journey, I was blessed with my first supporting lead role as “ Paulina” in the film “Irreversible Desires by Nakeva Bryant”, that is out now on life streams. Nakeva Bryant is a well-known musical performing arts, writer/ director, CEO of Skyhigh Films, affiliated with Maverick movies being an independent film maker.
