Angel Starlit, Southern Plug Music Awards Breakout & Underrated Artist of the Year is a native of Charleston, SC by way of Detroit l, MI. Growing up, Angel had a seemingly average lifestyle but dealt with issues within her family that included drug abuse, alcoholism and manic depression. To cope with home events, Angel began writing poetry, being featured in the “Who’s Who of Teen Poetry” by the age of 12. Fast forward to her twenties and she began turning her love for words into rhythm and flow. Loving hip hop artists, especially women, such as Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Mia X and Trina; Angel’s music is heavily influenced by her belief in the strength of women in Hip Hop. With vibes somewhat of “The Stallion meets Lil Kim, Angel hopes to bring a fun, energetic vibe back to women in Hip Hop such as the likes of Missy Elliot
