Award Winning NC Rapper Queen Nuby Releases New Music

Q. Hey everyone it’s ya boy Darren Southern Plug Brown, here with a mega Southern Plug Exclusive. Introducing to some,Queen Nuby. So, tell our readers that may not be familiar with you or your work just who you are and what it is that you do exactly.
A.Hi everyone I am Queen Nuby the newest hottest Rap artist coming out of Wilson NC

Q. So, what inspired you to start your journey as in your perspective field?
A. What inspired me to start this journey is My Big Sister BKAY. She was actually the rapper one of the best Ive yet to meet. She was the one that discovered I could rap. After she passed in 2020 it took a toll on me but once i started getting life back moving I took her encouraging words and hit the ground running doing my first show and radio interview in October of 2024 leading up to my first place winning in the Cammy Bash 2k25 Best Artist Competition and don’t plan on stopping no time soon.

Q. How and when did you coin your stage name and how do you feel that title fits you?
A. Well my nick name is Nubiann. My mom called me that growing up due to me being bullied about my rich melanated skin. For a while I thought being dark skin was ugly until I confided in her about my school problems. She showed me the kings and queens of Nubia and how their skin matched mine and some darker and thats when I started to love every part of me. That is when Queen Nuby was born, and despite what I’m faced with I take pride in handling ever challenge as a Nubian Queen would.

Q. Do you have any upcoming projects or announcements to make?
A. I just released an EP titled “Nuby, Daisy, & Me” it is out now on all platforms. I also have an upcoming performance in ATL on Dec 6th.

Q. What would you say is the quote on quote secret recipe for your success?
A. Honestly just be yourself, do all things with pure intentions, and above all keep God first.

Q.  What was your favorite part about what you do?
A. My favorite part would have to be when I step on a stage in a room of people i don’t know, and may have not gotten the chance to network with upon arrival, and do what I do best, aside from seeing those strangers dancing and bobbing their heads, it’s by time I leave the stage I have at vast majority of the audience coming to me asking to either exchange Info to work with me or to follow my journey.

Q. Name a time where you've faced adversity in your career? And, what impact did it have on you or your career?
A. I faced adversity in the very beginning of my career. I was told that I wasn’t good at rapping and that I should give up way before I even got my foot in the door. I found myself at one point in time seeking certain people’s approval so I could feel confident in my craft. Once I got on my first stage I received love so unimaginable that it was powerful enough to push everyone out of my head but me.

Q.  Is there something in specific that you want people to know about you or your art?
A. I make music of all kinds for all kinds of moods. As I said I am just getting things afloat for my career so I haven’t had a chance to put all sides of me in my music yet. All I can truly say is…. Stay Tuned!!

Q. Okay, so its no secert you are a very attractive person. Our men readers would like to know, are you boo'd up or what? If so spilt the tea. Who's  the lucky guy?

Q. How do you juggle your personal life and professional life?
A. Oh baby it’s not easy. I work a full time job, and I’m super mom to 5 beautiful children. It’s all about have a consistent schedule along with a powerful village helping with upkeep behind the scenes.

Q.  What advice would you give those wanting to start their journey in your field?
A. NEVER GIVE UP!!! It doesn’t matter how many “No’s” you get cause all it takes is the right “yes” to change your life forever. And NEVER look for full support from your city. Yes you’ll have some people here and there but I can almost guarantee majority of your fan base with be strangers, and a lot of them will be outside of your city.

Q. Who would you say is your biggest inspiration and why?
A. My biggest Inspiration and Motivation will forever be my late sister BKay and my children
