Get To Know Metro Songtress Thee RubyLyn

Q. Hey everyone it’s ya boy Darren Southern Plug Brown, here with a mega Southern Plug Exclusive. Introducing to some,(artist's name). So, tell our readers that may not be familiar with you or your work just who you are and what it is that you do exactly.

 A. I am Thee RubyLyn. I was born here in Columbia, SC AND raised in Atlanta, GA since the tender age of 10 months. I started artistry journey at four years old as a dancer. I trained in all technical styles such as ballet,  jazz, modern, etc. I started singing in church and throughout school. As far as recording and trying to become a professional singer/entertainer that started about 3/4 years ago. So far, my music has been based on my emotions and relationships. So if you ever wanted tea on Me lol go to the music.

Q. So, what inspired you to start your journey as in your perspective field?

A. As a child I went between either wanting to be a dancer or Beyonce. As I grew I realized only Beyonce can be Beyonce, so, I left music alone and went off to college to pursue my dance career. But dancing wasn’t enough.. plus this was around the time Rihanna stopped making music. I’m a big RIH fan so I said to myself if she isn’t going to make music for me anymore than I’ll do it… I’ve been dropping music since.

Q. How and when did you coin your stage name and how do you feel that title fits you?

A. Well, I got Ruby from a lipstick brand called “Ruby Woo”. At the time I was back home in Atlanta promoting for different clubs. My girls and I were trying to find code names for each other and I thought of Ruby because I always wore the Ruby woo lipstick. So Ruby became my promo name.. I added Lyn because of my middle name which is Lynette. “Thee” came from being a hot girl (a Megan thee stallion fan). It fits me because I’m THEE only RubyLyn that matters lol there is another white girl name RubyLyn and she is going up.. but I’m about to storm through.

Q. Do you have any upcoming projects or announcements to make?
A. I just dropped my new single called “Thee Main Character” on all platforms and January 6, 2026 I will be dropping my album which is named after the single “Thee Main Character”

Q. What would you say is the quote on quote secret recipe for your success?
A. You only live once‼️Chase every dream… no matter your age 🀏🏾

Q.  What was your favorite part about what you do?
A. Performing and meeting and working with new people

Q. Name a time where you've faced adversity in your career, and, what impact did it have on you or your career?
I had a disagreement with an old producer of mine. It made me realize you really have no true friends in this game. A lot of people are out for themselves not all but a lot! People will go
behind your back and try to take credit for things they aren’t even involved in. Watch and have your own back‼️

Q. Is there something in specific that you want people to know about you or your art?
A. I’m not just a singer. I dance and act as well.. I’m a triple threat, and I want to have my hands in all things entertainment. I love collaborating with different artist… I will sing background, dance background, do a cameo, learn lines for a short film, etc. I’m ready to work. Somebody from Columbia gotta make it and I’m willing to help.

Q. Okay, so its no secert you are a very attractive person. Our men readers would like to know, are you boo'd up or what? If so spilt the tea. Who's the lucky guy?
I have a man… my man my man my man…I am definitely in a relationship. I’ve been in one for about 6/7 years. Tino Main some know him as Mack main… yeah THATS ME RIGHT THERE‼️

Q. How do you juggle your personal life and professional life?
A. By taking it one day at a time and keeping my priorities in order‼️ My babies come first before anything‼️

Q. What advice would you give those wanting to start their
journey in your field?
Do it… don’t worry about other people’s opinions of your craft.. Do what makes your heart smile ‼️

Q. Who would you say is your biggest inspiration and why?
A. Chris Brown. No matter what the industry threw at him he still kept chasing his dream. Beyonce she keeps breaking barriers in the world with music. Taking back our power within music.
